Human dompaminergic neurons are obtained by differentiating from human iPS cell derived neural progenitor cells using maturation medium and additive A attached.
The human dopaminergic neurons can be used effectively for research and drug discovery of CNS diseases including Parkinson's disease.
- Human dopaminergic neuron
- Expressing both bIII-tubulin (a neuron marker) and TH (a dopaminergic neuron marker)
- Dopamine release and uptake are observed
- All lots are inspected by the functional assays

Immunostaining images of the NPCs cultured for 14 days
Dopaminergic neurons expressing both bIII-tubulin (a neuron marker) and TH (a dopaminergic neuron marker) are obtained after a 14-day culture.
Anti-bIII-tubulin (1:750), Sigma
Anti-tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) (1:250), Epitomics
Dopamine release in the medium: dopaminergic neurons derived from human iPS cells before/after KCl treatment.
The dopamine concentration in the culture medium increased on depolarization with 56 mM KCl. This result suggests that dopaminergic neurons derived from hiPSCs possess the ability of dopamine release.
